Man Fashion: Spring Fashion

Spring break is a time to reflect on the year so far, take time off, and definitely catch up on some needed fashion tips. So, whether you're staying at home and are looking for some comfy, relaxing clothes, or going on a trip and needing some style guidance, fashion is never too far away.

Penny Saver
If you're not into spending a ton of money, take five or so items out of your closet and invite friends over to do the same so you can exchange items and update your wardrobe effortlessly. This way, you can get a few free items and wear them your own personal way without emptying your wallet. Plus, it's a good way to spend quality time with your friends and get to know each other better.

Couch Lounging
For starters, tons of people on campus prefer to spend their time at home instead of taking expensive trips over spring break. So if you love to lounge and be comfortable, here are the perfect items that you need. Obviously, everyone needs a good, sturdy yet flattering, pair of sweatpants that don't absolutely drown your figure.

Hanes has a great line of matching sweatshirts and pants that are priced, at the most, $16 a piece. These sweatpants outfits for men are different from other brands such as Land's End, Adidas, and Champion because Hanes is not only more affordable, but more accessible at Walmart and select Walgreens stores.

Spring Essentials
Spring break is the ideal time to grab a few essentials for the new season, and re-create your wardrobe with a few new items. Since shopping is quite an exhilarating experience, if you happen to have the funds, there are some items that you have to grab this season.

Men obviously don't have to mix up their wardrobe too much, but there are some things they should be adding along the way this spring break. Purchasing a couple of graphic t-shirts and polo shirts is a great investment because they can go a long way. Graphic t-shirts are great for hanging out with friends, playing sports outside, or lounging around in the house.

Polo shirts are good for night time activities to dress up your attire a tad bit, or you can even tuck it in to wear for a special event or interview.

Couple Pajamas, Anyone?

A perfect pair of couple’s pajamas. Graphic and textile designer Frédérique Daubal has created this sleepwear set called 1+1 (LoveMe Before, LoveMe After) as part of The Love Design Exhibit in Milan, Italy.

Digital photos of an attractive couple have been printed on to 100% cotton nightwear--a boxer-wearing man on ‘his’ 2 piece pyjamas and tank and panties-wearing lady on ‘her’ nightgown. When you and your honey slip on the outfits and stand side-by-side as a couple, the digital duo appears to be embracing in a loving hug.

P&G and D&G = ??

High-End Cosmetics. Yes, you’ve gotta give ‘em credit for taking the risk, as Proctor & Gamble are indeed gambling during one of the toughest economic times in decades to venture into the luxury cosmetics market with Dolce & Gabbana.

Man Fashion
This is not your or your mothers’ Max Factor or CoverGirl, as prices for “Dolce & Gabbana The Makeup” include $30 lipstick, $44 rouge and $59 foundation; the line is first available at Saks Fifth Avenue starting in April.

In fact, this is not the first time both parties partnering together. Back to 2006, P&G and Dolce & Gabbana had signed a contract to enter into a license agreement with Dolce & Gabbana S.r.l. The existing fragrance portfolio was marketed and distributed by P&G.

Man Fashion
Just to differentiate and add to the line, they’re going to throw in some fragrances for men and women. Get ready for this launch!

Mens Fashion and Body Types

We all have our set of challenges when it comes to finding clothes we find flattering on ourselves, otherwise known as dressing for your body type. But if chosen well, the right clothes can hide the features we don’t like about ourselves and accentuate our best ones. Let go through some if not all of the fashion tips to live by when dressing for body types that might be a bit challenging. Of course there are exceptions to the rules, but keep these tips in mind when putting a wardrobe or an outfit together.

Tall Guys Challenges

Particularly tall guys should say away from vertical stripes including pinstripes since they tend to accentuate height. Horizontal stripes and windowpane plaids are more flattering patterns. If you are thin to boot, wearing fabrics that cling is a bad idea, but wearing baggy clothes also brings attention to your svelt physique. Being tall and thin myself I have always been challenged with looking for the perfect fit in shirts, trousers, sweaters and suits. small mens clothingI have found that wearing shirts that are slightly fitted with spread collars and trousers that are straight in the leg, not tapered in any way, work best. Also, sweaters with a closer fit to the body, but not fitted are more flattering. And since suits with three buttons tend to lengthen the body, stick with one and two buttons.

Short Mens Benefits

Short guys should avoid cuffed trousers, long suit jackets, and loud patterns. You don’t want to bring attention to your smaller stature. Pinstripes and other stripes (preferable not too bold) and dark solid colors are your best bet since they visually lengthen the body. Also, two and three buttoned suits with long lapels will give you a flattering, longer silhouette. And remember, when buttoning your suit leave the top button on two and three button suits undone since this will give the illusion of being taller. tall mens clothingWhen it comes to ties, avoid Windsor and double Windsor knots – in other words stick with small knots. This will help you avoid looking like a kid.

Do you have junk in the trunk?

Heavyset men shouldn’t wear bold patterns of any sort. Pinstripes and solid colors, especially dark ones, are your friends. Bulky fabrics such as tweeds should be avoided when it comes to suits, and softer wools such as gabardines and super 100’s should be embraced. Do wear suits with peaked lapels since they carry they eye upwards. Big mens fashionShirts with pointed collars are also more flattering. Some say that suspenders are better than belts, but I’ll let you decide.

Man Travel: How To Shop like a local in Milan

Milan isn't Paris. At times it doesn't even feel like Italy. There's a sense of the Germanic to it, as a walk around the sprawling Parco Sempione on a Sunday afternoon will attest. Men in forest-green loden coats and Bavarian-style hats with feathers. Serious women in big fur coats. Unsmiling children.

Man Fashion
Warm up your shopping muscles with a visit to the Quadrilatero, the golden rectangle, just north of the Duomo, as the four big-bucks shopping streets (Via Montenapoleone, Via della Spiga, Via Manzoni and Via Sant'Andrea) are collectively called. Status designers from Armani to Zegna, from brothers Rossetti to sisters Fendi, have their flagship stores here; they are scattered between small galleries, antique dealers and fancy cafés with chandeliers, where matrons in mink (it's politically incorrect not to wear fur here) down a quick espresso standing at the counter, before reporting for retail battle.

Man Fashion: Adidas Y3 Sneakers

Yohji Yamamoto and Adidas are back at it with one of my favorite collaborative collections of the year! Once again, Yamamoto has added his own inventive touch to a fully comprehensive collection of sport and style-fused sneakers alike, as we see a great mix of textures, fabrics, heights and potential uses. As always, the Adidas Y-3 collection can be found in select higher-end menswear accounts and they can often teeter well over the $200 pricing tier.
